Blackdog. is carving a brutal, emotive space in modern metal — blending the atmospheric depth of Loathe, the punishing aggression of Knocked Loose, and the chaotic intensity of END. Known for their unrelenting live sets and emotionally charged delivery, the band channels personal struggle and collective fury into every note — captivating audiences and leaving a visceral mark.
Formed by three former members of the now-defunct Hybridreams, Blackdog. emerged with a bold vision to push beyond metalcore’s foundations and embrace something darker, heavier, and more dynamic. When the search for a vocalist initially stalled, the band’s drummer took on vocal duties, leading to the creation of their debut EP, Slow Death Society (July 2022).
The EP’s lead single, “Slow Death,” quickly gained momentum, landing on Spotify’s All New Metal playlist and surpassing 20K streams, while also earning the cover spot on QUB Musique’s Nouveautés Musique Métal. The follow-up, “Talk Shit,” reinforced the band’s arrival, collecting over 8K streams in its first week and appearing on New Blood and additional editorial playlists.
Since then, Blackdog. has expanded its lineup with the addition of a new dedicated vocalist, ushering in a new era for the band and laying the groundwork for their upcoming debut full-length album — a self-recorded, emotionally unrelenting work mixed and mastered by Maxime Lacroix (Blind Witness, Feels Like Home, Get The Shot). Set for release through Hell for Breakfast and backed by Enable Music Group, the album captures the band at full power: sharper, heavier, and more emotionally charged than ever before.
Blackdog. isn’t just stepping into the next chapter — they’re building something unapologetically raw, technically refined, and built to endure.
